I have decided to join the blogging craze. I am looking forward to taking a moment to find out a little more about the plants I have been photographing. I hope to explore all aspects of plants, flowers, trees and other garden related topics. Sorry about having to watermark the photos but there are a lot of people using them without permission.

Twin Butterflies
Twin Butterflies
This picture is of two butterflies on the same patch of Coneflower. I thought they lined up kind of nice. Has any else had a lot of butterflies this year? I distinctly remember saying last year that we had “hardly any butterflies” and this year there have been clouds of them. Go figure. I am almost finished with the overgrown garden I pruned out. Quite a bit of the granite terrace around the pool had sunk so I have been relaying that, then some planting and mulch and its time to move on.
I went to the Kenny Loggins concert last night. My wife really wanted to go and I was again able to score some front row tickets. I had a better time than I expected. The music was also more interesting than I thought it would be.

I will agree to the butterfly statement. Last year I was really only seeing a few zebra longwings and monarch's. This year, the swallowtails are really having a hey-dey and the sulphrs as well.
The butterfly photo is fab.
DFP - I have a few photo's of butterfly's on coneflowers. When I bought the plants it said they attracted these little beauties and they weren't wrong. Lovely capturing two at the same time though.
hi misti,
there have been so many butterflies this year I have taken to petting them. I have done it to about 8 so far.
ali, thanks.
wfw, Coneflowers are magnets for bees and butterflies. I was just lucky to have the camera ready when the two of them landed.
Great capture of the twin butterflies. I was able to finally photograph the same Eastern swallowtail when it was busily feeding on the Hydrangea nectar. This must be a very good year for them as I see a lot.
Ki,
Hello there. Getting a good butterfly picture can be frustrating, eh. I am glad that I am not the only one who thinks there are a lot of butterflies. It is hard to remember from year to year sometimes. Why don't you join our little 'ABC Wednesday' group.
Great capture! beautiful buterflies, great timing...
