I have decided to join the blogging craze. I am looking forward to taking a moment to find out a little more about the plants I have been photographing. I hope to explore all aspects of plants, flowers, trees and other garden related topics. Sorry about having to watermark the photos but there are a lot of people using them without permission.

Japanese Cobra Lily
Japanese Cobra Lily Arisaema sikokianum (air-iss-EE-mah) (si-koe-kee-AY-num)
Hi Jams, thanks. The botanical world holds many treasures.
Hi Sandy, They are very closely related, same genus (first name). Both are not in the Lily family they have there own group. Japanese Cobra Lily is just the common name.

Wow Great shot! I've never seen one of those before. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome! Makes me think of our friend Jack-in-the-Pulpit, whom we encountered along the Shepaug on Saturday. Is Jack a lily, too, by any chance?
