I'm loving the color. That is one neat shot.

(The swamp is on the Woodlake side of the road. Follow the road in and stay with the water and you find all kinds of treasures.)

I love this one - the color contrast, the detail of the flower against the blurry background, and the spherical shape of the beds.

Excellent. I always have trouble with purple-y colors.

That looks like one of the hardier types of aechmea! Do you happen to know what species it is and where you found it?

Hi Rainforest. I don't really know anything about it, hence it posting on Wordless Wednesday. The shot was taken in Mid-Feb at the Kula Botanical Garden in upcountry Maui.I am guessing at about 1500 feet of elevation. There were several planted together in a raised kind of lava planter but only this one had the flower. Thanks for stopping by and asking.

To all others, I do appreciate your comments on this strange little flower. Thanks.
