Kenora Charmer Ball Dahlia

Ball Dahlia

Dahlia ‘Kenora Charmer’

(DAHL-ya)

While we are the subject of Dahlia here is a nice Ball type from last year. The shading and flower form are pretty amazing. Not sure why the Ball Dahlias are not more popular.

Since today is the first of December that means winter hours at work (slightly later in the morning and earlier in the afternoon). There is always a lot of work to get everything ready for winter during this season and this year is no exception.

"I heard a bird sing

In the dark of December

A magical thing

And sweet to remember.

'We are nearer to Spring

Than we were in September,'

I heard a bird sing

In the dark of December."

Oliver Herford, Poet (1863-1935)
