Thanksgiving Centerpiece

Thanksgiving Centerpiece

I got a late mum for the centerpiece of our Thanksgiving table. It is nice most of the family is here celebrating. To all the American readers out there Happy Thanksgiving and to everyone else Happy Thursday.

This was shot with the 50mm @ 1.8. I sure wish this mum came with a name tag!

Beautiful Autumn colors here and of rudbeckias in the previous post. I missed them in my garden, so I planted a tiny one in October to make sure next Autumn it will be there.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Beatiful pic. The colours are very nice, and the picture is so sharp. As I am in Australia, all this Thanksgiving stuff isn't very meaningful, but nice pic anyway! :)

Trica and mike thanks for the comments. mike aren't you from the UK?

ewa, Good luck with your Rudbeckia. If all goes well you should have a couple of new ones by next year.

david, greetings. Think of thanksgiving as 'family' day. You get together with loved ones and have a really big meal. It is a very nice holiday and kind of kicks off the Christmas season here in the US.

Great photo and beautiful mum. I was going to ask what it was but no name tag! I was looking at container panting combinations and this mum would be perfect with black mondo grass, it's just the color I'm looking for.

That is one of my favorited colored mums and I was happy to find so many of mine coming back this year were like that.

I've been enjoying your photos...it was my first visit here. I am a photographer too but kids are my specialty.

What a stunning flower and stunning photo!

I believe it is a type of 'Pelee' mum. Whole Foods was selling them this fall and it looked just like that - beautiful.

robert, thanks for the Id. My brother told me that these mums are greenhouse raised (florist mums, I guess). The colors sure are nice. Thanks to everyone else for the comments.
