Beautiful, vivid yellow - I wonder why its called an "ice" plant.

I see ice plant all along the coast here. I didn't know at first that it wasn't native. Indeed, it is considered quite a menace by some. Nonetheless, it is beautiful to see large fields along the cliffs by the ocean.

kla,

not sure about the name. Its not very hardy so it doesn't have to do with the winter type ice.

hi cat, that is the plant! I love the purple kind when it is blooming along the road and cliffs.
